Mario Furlan was born in Murano in 1963, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where he graduated in 1987. Immediately after completing his studies, he devoted himself to learn “working with solid glass”, under the guidance of his father Walter Furlan, expert Master of glass sculptures.
Mario Furlan, immediately fascinated by the expressive potential of this millennial art, has decided to also learn the art of “grinding work”, used to finish glass works with particular cutting and polishing. From here Mario has begun to produce his glass sculptures.
His first work entirely created in the heat and then grinded is in 1996. Since 2000 he has been collaborating with various artists in the creation of glass works. The partnership with the painter Voltolina is very important and begins in 2010, giving life to a number of innovative works for design and construction technique.
